During Autumn term, Year 3 will be learning how to SHINE at Carrant Brook Junior School!
In Science, we will identify that animals need the right types and amount of nutrition. We will learn that humans and some other animals have skeletons and muscles for support, protection and movement.
In Art, we will look at Roy Lichtenstein's Pop art and create our own pieces and in DT, we will be developing our sewing skills in order to create a cushion.
In History, we will be carrying out a local history study and in Geography, we will explore our local area.

Homework Expectations
Reading - children are expected to read at least 4 times per week. You can help by asking your child about what s/he is reading. Reading record to be signed by parent/carer. Records are checked in class every Thursday ready for Celebration Assembly. There will be opportunities to change both the book band book and the 'special' book each week.
Spelling - new spellings are sent home every Friday, which are to be practised at home in your Spelling book. We will test a number of these spellings through a spelling list on a Friday. Spelling records will need to be in school on a Thursday to be checked and new spellings to be put in.
Times Tables - By the end of Year 4, we hope that pupils will be fluent in all times tables and division facts up to 12 x 12. We advise regular practice using 'Hit the Button' at home.
